Notes:
I purchased the car back in 2001 from Mesphisto Exotic Motorcars or something similar to that name.
The original engine is no longer in the car, a previous owner installed an older 907 engine, according to Lotus probably from a Jensen Healy as it was from 1973 and has no smog.
I plan on keeping this car for a long time, finally got it pretty well sorted out, just waiting for it to no longer to need be smogged so the carbs can be changed.

So here it is, the fruit of two and a half years work.
You are looking at a 1977 S1 Lotus Esprit, in original Monaco white, with the correct Hunting Menzies tartan interior.
This is as close to the iconic Bond car as most of us will ever get!
So about this car, I bought her in the UK, needing a running restoration, which got a little more involved as time went on...
We have performed a body off restoration, stripping down to the body and chassis. All components and glass were removed from the body. The body was at the paint shop for 9 months and has been meticulously refinished in the original Monaco White. Each panel was painted seperately, then reassembled. For aesthetics, the US spec side markers were deleted, and the federal tail panel changed for the UK spec tail panel.
In the mean time the chassis, that had no corrosion, was media blasted and enamel coated in original factory black.
The chassis was then reassembled with all new or refurbished components, wherever possible. I could write for hours about the difficult to find components, that have been sourced to make this car as close to new as we can!
When the body was finished, it was transported to Norwich, the home not only of Lotus, but also of Legendary Esprit trimmer Steve Fulcher. His Dad Nick, worked at Pinewood studios on the original Bond car. There is no one better than his surviving son Steve, to refinish and Esprit interior! Every part of the interior, both soft furnishings and hard, have been replaced or refurbished. same with the engine bay fittings. A new original spec engine tonneau was made for the engine bay. New original spec seat belts were fitted for safety. I hope you agree, the result is stunning.
The car was now ready for the final finishing, the fitment of the stunning refinished Wolfrace alloys, the decals and badges and other general snagging to achieve the ultimate finish.
The car now benefits from a fresh MOT and is simply stunning from any angle.
The restoration was painstakingly completed by South West Lotus in Devon, if you have any questions please ask me, or google them, and drop them a call. Ask for Phil or his son James, they know this car from the inside.
I am aware that this car may make its way back to the States for a new owner, or to mainland Europe. I can assist with shipping and transport.
