Description for Lotus Esprit 1978
With just 28,900 miles and in the early Esprit's most desirable color, Lagoon Blue (recently painted in multi-stage Fiberglas-body primer and base coat/clear coat to Lotus paint specs) this early Esprit Series 1 features a brand-new leather interior in the style of the original (comfortable and unattractive brown cloth and faux suede) and is presented on eBay now as a preview sale leading up to its listing later this month once a few final restorative tasks are complete. Brand new performance tires, original Wolfrace wheels, original mirrors, windscreen, engine (included freshly and professionally rebuilt Zenith Stromberg carburetors with a K&N air filter assembly in place... the engine runs smoothly and it starts and idles like any new car. As the photos show, this Esprit has more appeal than any white James Bond 007 cliche car as it's an original in nearly original condition (except for vast body paint and interior improvements).
This auction is a preview auction and is listed for a heads-up look by our eBay community to watch for its relisting. It's listed at its value due to rarity, condition and recent appeal and its soaring appreciation and collector value. The relisting will start at less than half of the current value to begin the race to the finish: a no-reserve auction with seller cooperation in shipping anywhere in the world with buyer-provided arrangements.
