I sold it in fall of 2015 to a gentleman in London. Interior beautiful restored. Original gelcoat had minor defects tended to but otherwise kept original. Full mechanical refresh by SJ Sportscars. They had never seen an intact Federal S1 before. Owner history: Tommy ??? (have to look it up) in California in 1990s maybe back to the '80s; Steve Hurt California-Arizona late '90s to 2005; Tony Krncevic, Ohio USA 2005-2015. Cheers, Tony K

Here is 155H now in the U.K.

Description for Lotus Esprit 1977
1977 Lotus Esprit S1-Nice!
Up for sale andflash to the past is our 1977 Lotus Esprit S1. Runs, drives, and stops great! 30,746 original miles, always climate controlled garaged kept when not in use. All original interior, time warp to 1977 and I can't tell you how great it feels to drive this car if you are stuck in the 70's and 80's like I am, lol. I've always been a huge fan of this car since the James Bond movie came out, mostnotably "The Spy Who Loved Me" August 3rd, 1977. Lotus 2.0L 4 cylinder engine runs like a sewing machine and the C35 5 speed transmission shifts through all the gears with ease including reverse. A truecollector'scar, stampmanufacturer date 3/77. Engine 1973 cc, 160 HP, light car overall 1,984 lbs, top speed 133 mph.
Mechanical Maintenance: Oil/filter (full synthetic 15w50) changed 10/2/18, 500 miles. New gear oil, new fuel lines, and filters. Brakes serviced on 3/15/18, new pads. All electrics work the way they should: flip up lights, side marker lens, blinkers, and interior lights. All window motors, buttons, and windows work as they should.
Exterior: The exterior is in stunning condition! This car has beautiful design lines and eye catching no matter what angle. All original Calypso Red holds a strong shine and Is professionally waxed every 6 months. Newer performance tires (1,100 miles) and new wheel set to time period and give this Lotus a sporty look. No accidents or body damage to the frame or body. Car cover comes with the Lotus as well as original spare tire, manuals, and booklets.
Interior:The interior is all original fabric, panels, and headliner. All carpet in very good-clean condition, just a couple nicks. In amazing condition and has been well preserved. I was sold just as much on the interior as exterior because of its originality. The AC and heat work great! Original Lotus radio, late 70's equalizer and radar detector, and stock speakers!! I love it.
Paperwork and Terms: Clean, clear title and fully insured. All original manuals, booklets, receipts ofmaintenance follow with the new owner. This Lotus is located in beautiful Wilmington, NC and is available for showing. If you are wanting to ship, I would be happy to assist the carrier with loading but its ultimately the responsibility of the buyer to arrange.
Note: No international bidding unless contacted before hand and payment is sent in US Funds: Cash, Wire Transfer, or Certified Cashers Check. Like any vintage vehicle, this will be sold as is. No warranty expressed or implied. In great running condition at time of sale. Thanks for your interest in our 77 Lotus Esprit S1!

Jochen Fabritius from Germany quotes "very good, MIDNGIN Is 100 percent 159h.
The car by now has undergone a mild restauration while keeping as much original as possible. Scratches have been removed and the car has received new carpets. A new tartan interior will be made over the winter. New parts include a new cooling system, odometer, window sealings and many more. I changed the car to Euro specs (bumpers and engine)

This vehicle's excellent power-to-weight ratio and lightweight fiberglass body make it nimble and entertaining to drive. It is a rare original and untouched example of a unique chapter in sports car history and design.

1977 LOTUS ESPRIT S1
1st Year of the iconic Lotus Esprit
This is a rare opportunity to own a period defining automobile. The 1977 Lotus Esprit S1, based on Giorgetto Giugiaro M70 concept, represented the height of 1970's sports car design. Made famous by turning from a car into a submarine in the 1977 James Bond film The Spy Who Loved Me the Esprit boasted 140 hp from a mid-engine 4 cylinder with 2 Zenith-Stromberg Carburetors. The five speed manual gearbox and four wheel disc brakes add to the performance. This particular car was first delivered to Lotus Cars USA to its first owner on the West Coast. Shows outstanding original cosmetic condition and displaying just over 27,000 miles. The striking exterior color is "Lemon" with a Lotus Green & Tartan interior. This is one of the most unique and iconic interiors ever produced.
This Esprit is virtually untouched and original throughout. It has recently received a full service and engine tuning and is ready to drive. This vehicle's excellent power-to-weight ratio and lightweight fiberglass body make it nimble and entertaining to drive. It is a rare original and untouched example of a unique chapter in sports car history and design. They are only original once. That makes this a true collectible.

The Lotus Esprit was hand built in England between 1976 and 2004. The iconic status these motorcars enjoyed was helped by the dramatic styling from Italian design house of "Giugiario", and appearing in the 1977 James Bond Film "The Spy who Loved Me". In this movie the car transformed into a submarine.
The handling of these dramatic fine motors was highly acclaimed and was helped by the Lotus mid-engine layout and lightweight fiberglass body for superior balance and speed. These series one (S1) cars had Wolfrace wheels and a a twin-stromberg 2.0 Liter Lotus Engine with a 5 speed trans-axle Gearbox. There was under 500 of these S1 cars built for the USA, so it is a rare exotic sports car.
This rare exotic motorcar is in very nice unmolested original condition throughout. It has its original paint and twin stromberg engine. It also has very low miles, and would make a great addition for a collector. The bodywork is extremely straight, dry and clean. As the pictures show it is in very good condition, the motorcar runs strong. The pop-up headlights work and there are no known significant issues with the motorcar. The front bumper cover (hard plastic) is missing. The motorcar was purchased this way. The rear plastic bumper cover is present. The paint has some blemishes but these do not significantly detract from its overall appearance.
The motorcar is available for viewing in the New Hampshire area by appointment, and I encourage you to view it if possible to truly appreciate this fine motorcar. I am selling the car on behalf of the owner, any further questions, please do not hesitate to ask! I will do my best to get you the correct information.
I will require payment through PayPal, with an initial Deposit of $1000.00 within 24 Hours. Certified check is acceptable for the balance of the sale. The Rest of the Funds will need to be Cleared before the vehicle can be released and the Title provided.
This is a classic collector vehicle, and there is NO Warranty, and it is "sold as is". Shipping is the responsibility of the purchaser but every effort will be made to assist in the shipment to it's new home.
I Reserve the Right to End the Listing as it is being offered elsewhere.
