Esprit S1 Last Updated this week   As vehicle left the factory on 23/02/1978     VOP 393S   Chassis No: 7805 0380G Engine No: CC7 7805 14932   Original Colour/Code: Silver/---         Present vehicle     VOP 393S   Current condition: Requires Restoration Current location: Germany   Number of owners: 6 Last known mileage: 55510         Notes: Sold on eBay 20th March 2011 for £4100.00 Believed to be relocated in Germany This is a 1978 Series 1 Esprit requiring a full restoration. The paperwork I have with the car comprises of a V5 log book, an all clear HPI report , five old MOT certificates and four old invoices one coming to just under £2500 for engine work but this was in 1989.The car is fitted with the original Wolfrace alloys although they have been painted black the bodywork has no visible gel cracks but the paintwork is poor all round and will really require a re-paint the lower front spoiler has cracks in it and will require repairing . I have taken some shots of the chassis which has no visible holes just some slight surface rust so if you wanted to go all the way this could be blasted and powder coated. The interior will need a full set of carpets and a total re-trim as all of this is in poor condition but it is all there apart from the seats are just placed in the car and are missing there runners. Mechanically the car has been laid up for 9 years however we fitted a new set of plugs ,new fuel and fuel lines and fuel filter and managed to start the car and have it running. Engine runs but oil is dripping from the cam carriers this will need doing along with a good service and cam-belt. I saw this car new as a young boy in Ipswich, original colour was silver. I belive the original owner was a dentist. Car would have come from Norfolk Motor Co in Norwich. Always believed it was one of the last S1's as knew of an S2 reg no BNG 280T think that was also silver 20-01-12 (For Sale) http://www.scottwalkers.co.uk/cars/car.php?id=80 Scott’s Comments The last UK registered Esprit S1 - and was it a late one! The car was supplied by The Norfolk Motor Company and chassis 0381G bears a few hallmarks of an S2, but is a genuine S1. I bought & sold the car two years ago as a non-running project, and have just taken her back in as an incomplete restoration. Originally Silver, the cars body has been beautifully prepared off the chassis by Surface Design in Blackpool, and the finish is literally mindblowing. Mechanically, the box has been overhauled, and the engine fully rebuilt by Kevin at Esprit Cars in Stockport - Kevin was conducting pre-delivery inspections on these when they were new. The suspension, brakes and steering have all been completely refurbished or replaced as neccessary but we are to conclude adjustments and final set up. Indeed, I would like to carry out some running in mileage in the car once it's complete. Good rear glass, new front glass, a full leather interior and we will ensure the wheels are correctly lathed - it will be beautiful when completed. It's some way off, but it's well on the way. You want a really nice, completely rebuilt White S1? You may have just found it. 24-03-15 Previous Owner Robert Crooks The last S1, left the Hethel production line in Norfolk on 23rd May 1978. It was delivered to dealer The Norfolk Motor Company and purchased by a dentist from Falkenham, near Ipswich in Suffolk, who took ownership on 1st August 1978, the first day of the T registration. It passed through nine owners before, in 2009, a very high standard restoration was started by the then owner. This included a body-off respray as well as rebuilding the engine, gearbox, steering and suspension. Surrey-based dealer Scott Walkers acquired the car unfinished in 2011 and sold it to current owner Paul Murray, a designer at Lotus, who has since completed the restoration.                           Do you have some information about this car?
