NO ENGINE
brought a few years ago as a non-runner project
I got it back on the road and used it a for a short time
the engine fitted was an old Rover P6 (was old and worn)
I fitted a Edelbrock performance inlet manifold & edelbrock 4 barrel carb
This made the car sound awesome and ran much better than the twin SU setup
But I wanted more power!
I removed the engine and had plans of fitting a more powerful unit
I brought a John Eales 3.9 engine to fit, then kept buying more parts and the goal posts kept getting wider!
but it never got finished! (never have much spare time to work on it!)
this had a very expensive conversion kit to fit the V8 from Esprit Develpoments
Fitting a Rover V8 is easy with this conversion just bolts in like factory fit.
the pictures are out of date, the red chassis pictures are when it had a body off restoration (before I brought it)
its nearly complete (no engine) sold the old P6 engine as parts years ago
and the John Eales engine has been sold.
This comes with a large stack of service history/invoices, paperwork from Esprit Develpoments
And photos of restoration
So what are you buying?
A complete S1 Lotus Esprit in sound condition, fitted with a tidy black S2 interior, it has S2 alloys in excellent condition, fitted with new toyo tyres on the front, also has a S2 front spoiler fitted.
all the conversion parts, mounts, exhaust, gearbox adaptor etc...easy to fit another rover v8
just bolts in!
this has the best of both worlds, S1 Lotus Esprit with out the under powered fragile lotus engine!
This sounded fantastic with the V8 sound track! Rover engines are cheap and easy to source!
check out the cost of the lotus engine and how much they cost to rebuild! ££££££ check out how many have been rebuilt again and again and then you will know the Rover v8 is the right engine.
this does need work to get back on the road, but is a sound project
will need the odd jobs sorting and of course fitting a engine.
The gearbox, exhaust, rear bumper, rear valance etc, is not fitted, or the engine bay alloy panels
I will refit the gearbox as this needs to be installed to move the car, and refit most of the other parts trim just to keep it all together
And to help move it
I can deliver @ £1 a mile one way this would have to be agreed first and payment made in full before.
I have 4.5 v8 developments engine
this is not included but can be brought for extra on top of the car price
its stage 3 tuned, has cross-drilled crank, Cosworth forged pistons, stage 3 big valve heads, uprated cam, steel timing set, gorgeous light steel flywheel,
edelbrock manifold and webber (edelbrock carb) this is all very low milage (just run in)
looking for around £2.5k for it as its worth that in parts! so £7k for complete package
no offers and not selling the engine unless car gets sold
not bothered about selling, just testing the waters
